Where Your Front Desk May Be Dropping The Ball

Chiropractic Assistants and/or Front Desk staff multi-task.

Most of them process new patients, welcome and handle existing ones, answer the phone, do computer entry, and maybe even insurance billing.

They are constantly distracted by the phone, patients, and most likely, you.

This puts your front desk in perpetual “catch up” mode and when you’re in that mode, you make mistakes.

  • Incoming callers get handled improperly
  • Outbound insurance calls don’t get made
  • Office gets cluttered
  • And you end up walking on eggshells in your own office.

You and your staff need to individually do a time study.
Everyday, for at least a full week (Optimally 2 weeks) log everything you do; start and stop times and if possible, notes along the way that describe any distractions that took place.

Then, get together and determine how to better cluster the work week so each of you ideally focus on one thing at a time ’til completion. (As much as possible.)

The key is “FOCUS” and “COMPLETION.”

Loss of focus reduces creation and productivity …and morale.

So, if you like,  print this out, give to staff and discuss.

Maybe today’s topic doesn’t apply to you and or your staff and maybe it does. Without a discussion, you’ll never really know.
